VERTIGO UNVEILS THE NEXT GENERATION OF TRIAL BIKE
2014-10-04
Today at the famous EICMA motorcycle exhibition in Milan, Italy – Vertigo Motors unveiled their all-new Trial model to the World’s media and key industry stakeholders. This marked a proud moment for the new Spanish manufacturer, with their new creation receiving immediate praise and appreciation from the assembled audience.
12 times FIM Trial World Champion Dougie Lampkin, who has been instrumental in the development of the Vertigo Combat machine, was on hand in Milan to lift off the covers from 2 versions of the new bike – Camo and Ice Hell. Lampkin’s continued role with the project will be as the Vertigo Sports Team Manager and as a brand ambassador.
The 300cc two stroke machine has been designed to set new standards within its field and boasts a series of technical developments to create an incredibly strong and balanced overall package.
The ultra compact engine offers amazing torque throughout and produces an impressive 31HP at 9200RPM. The bespoke electronic system represents the latest advances in this sector, with the ECU managing and controlling the performance of the engine in all situations. The rider can choose from 4 maps in each of the 6 gears, with the 24 maps allowing an unequalled level of user refinement.
The ECU accurately adjusts the fuel injection and ignition settings in each and every gear to provide exceptional and smooth power delivery to match the terrain and riding conditions.
Optimum performance is maintained in all circumstances thanks to the high air intake, and specially designed radiator that works seamlessly in conjunction with the electronic water pump and fan, that responds directly to water temperature rather than engine speed or rider activity.
The high-level engine characteristics are perfectly matched by a chassis package to suit. The steel mutli-tubular main section provides flexibility to give the rider real time feedback whilst the aluminium sub-sections at the front and rear provide the required rigidity to withstand the rigors of all competitions.
The central low mounted fuel tank means that the suspension action is unaffected by fuel load and allows the fully adjustable Reiger rear shock to operate to its full potential at all times.
The sleek and narrow lines of the specially designed plastic bodywork that incorporates further new technology, twin outlet silencer and flush fitting fuel cap finish off what can only be described as truly the next generation of Trial bike.
The new Vertigo Combat can be found at stand G77 in hall 18 opposite the Ducati stand.
